Cost of teeth straightening with dental braces
A teeth straightening is for most people an investment in their well-being. How much the final cost for your teeth straightening will be is determined by the extent of the adjustment, which method you choose as well as the clinics pricing and to which degree you may qualify for NHS funding.
Cost of teeth straightening
The gross cost (before any possible deductions/subsidies) for a teeth straightening procedure depends on the method, if one or two jaws are being treated, the length of the treatment (6-24 months) as well as how complicated the adjustment is.
- Price for teeth straightening with traditional dental braces (fixed appliance) is approx. £1000/jaw.
- Price for teeth straightening with invisible (lingual) dental braces on the inside of the teeth is approx. £3500-5000/jaw.
- Price for Invisalign teeth straightening with plastic rails is approx. £3500-5000/jaw.
NHS
Patients under the age of 19 should primarily visit their usual dentist in order to be referred to a specialist in teeth straightening. Children with severe teeth issues receive free care.
For adults with serious teeth issues that affect one’s bite, damage the teeth or gums may be eligible for some NHS funding. However Invisalign is not covered by the NHS.
