Teeth whitening techniques and options
Prinicipally all teeth whitening procedures works in the same way, by exposing the teeth to bleach that makes them whiter. However, one should divide the different approches to of teeth whitening into “home treatments” and “professional treatments”.
”At home whitening” is the easiest alternative but is also less effective. A home product for teeth whitening can therefore not be compared with a professional teeth whitening.
A professional teeth whitening (whitening at clinic) is performed at a clinic either as an “in-office whitening” or as a professional dentist-supervised home whitening, whereby the clinic after examination and fitting provides the patient with professional bleach and custom trays for home use.
What result can I expect from my teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening works and will make your teeh whiter. However the result of a teeth bleaching is affected by the type of discolouration, how long you have had them, the original colour of your teeth, the strength of the bleach that is applied and how long it is left to work. With increased strength and exposure there is however an increased risk of corrosion damage to the gums as well as shooting pains.

The total treatment time is always hard to predict as is the final result. Before treatment begins it is therefore necessary to be aware of and understand that individual variations are vast.
